Burjeel Medical City’s long-term care and rehabilitation wing has offered this gift under the ZHO’s 'Weyyakum Fel Kheir' to ease the challenges people with determination face in their daily lives.

In a heartwarming gesture of compassion, Burjeel Darak, the long-term care and rehabilitation wing of Burjeel Medical City, has donated 30 wheelchairs to the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO). The gift has been offered under the ZHO's 'Weyyakum Fel Kheir' (May You Be in Goodness) initiative, which aims to support society, achieve positive societal values, and consolidate the values of giving, interdependence and cohesion between members of society.

The event in which the wheelchairs were handed over was held at the Foundation's headquarters on Tuesday. It was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary General of ZHO. Other attendees from ZHO included His Excellency Nafie Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector; His Excellency Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector; Counselor Asaad Hawass, Director of the Project Management Office; Mrs. Kholoud Abdul Rahim, Director of the Care and Rehabilitation Centers Department; Dr. Fatima Al Dhaheri, Director of the Health Care Department; and Nawal Al Shamsi, Director of the Communication and Marketing Office. John Sunil, Chief Executive Officer, Omran Al Khoori, Member of the Board of Directors, and President of Business Development; and Hamad Ahmed Al Hosani, Chief Corporate Officer, represented Burjeel Holdings at the event.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan appreciated the gift from Burjeel Darak, located at Burjeel Holdings' flagship facility Burjeel Medical City. "I express my gratitude to Burjeel Holdings for gifting the wheelchairs to needy people of determination as part of the 'Weyyakum Fel Kheir' initiative. We are happy to collaborate with Burjeel Holdings, which is renowned for its high-quality healthcare and patient management services. This gesture indicates continuing cooperation between Burjeel Holdings and the Foundation to support the community and perpetuate the culture of giving. I am confident that this initiative will greatly benefit and help improve the lives of people of determination and their families," he said.
ZHO and Burjeel Holdings have enjoyed a strategic partnership since 2021 when the healthcare provider procured medical stents developed by people of determination using 3D printing technology.

Mr. Omran Al Khoori emphasized Burjeel Holdings' commitment to social responsibility by extending support to the programs and projects of governmental, semi-governmental and private institutions. "Burjeel Holdings continues to seek ways to make a lasting difference in the lives of people of determination. As a leading healthcare provider in the UAE and the region, we have a social responsibility to support the community and its aspirations. We look forward to supporting more such initiatives in the future that will empower people of determination and create a sense of inclusivity," he said.

Mr. Waleed Tawifq, Chief Operations Officer at Burjeel Hospital, indicated that this humanitarian gesture would significantly enhance the quality of life of people of determination.
"Through our highly qualified team of experts, Burjeel Darak has built a reputation for offering world-class services to patients in every stage of recovery. Our emphasis is on helping patients reach their maximum potential through individual programs designed to achieve rapid recovery. Since its establishment, Burjeel Darak has been dedicated to improving the well-being of our community, and this gift to ZHO perfectly aligns with our mission. We hope that these wheelchairs will create a positive impact on the recipients and allow them to gain mobility and independence in their daily lives," he said.
