On the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day and in celebration of the holy month, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, implemented a pioneering community initiative by organizing a collective iftar banquet across 27 governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt for people with disabilities, their families, and the staff affiliated with 68 communication centers for people with disabilities under the Bridges of Hope program, sponsored and supported by "Al Qabidah" (ADQ). The iftar banquet was attended by 11,242 beneficiaries, including 5,281 people with disabilities, 5,281 guardians or companions, and 680 specialists working in communication centers.

His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan, the Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, emphasized that this initiative, which organized a simultaneous iftar banquet across Egypt, bringing together people with disabilities, their families, and the staff of these centers on Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, aims to combine charitable work with social solidarity, aiming to enhance social solidarity and provide support to the most needy groups in society.

He said: Organizing the collective iftar banquet as part of the celebrations of "Zayed Humanitarian Workday" and in honor of the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan - may God rest his soul - who played a prominent role in humanitarian work and achieving comprehensive development within and outside the country. He emphasized that Zayed Humanitarian Workday is a sincere expression of loyalty and allegiance to our leadership, and an embodiment of the path of goodness instilled in us by the late Sheikh Zayed, as well as a reflection of the generosity embodied by the UAE. This year's celebration came in a new form, with the organization of a collective iftar banquet for all communication centers in a pleasant Ramadan atmosphere amidst a state of joy that prevailed among all attendees and participants.

His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan clarified that the initiative aims to gather a large number of people with disabilities and their families in remote areas that suffer from a lack of support and attention, including the neediest families, making it stand out as a comprehensive initiative seeking to meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups in society. It is an opportunity to promote love and tolerance among members of society and contribute to strengthening social bonds and solidarity among everyone. It also highlights core humanitarian values such as mutual support and solidarity, encouraging the building of strong and resilient social relationships among community members.

The cooperation protocol between the organization and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Bridges of Hope program, sponsored by "Al Qabidah" (ADQ) and supported by the organization, has achieved significant success in transferring experience and program expertise to support families of people with disabilities across Egypt through family counseling programs. The program also succeeded in developing 68 communication centers in Egyptian villages within a record time period of no more than a year and a half, despite initially being scheduled for completion in three years. This success was made possible thanks to the support and backing from all state agencies in Egypt, benefiting up to 17,000 people with disabilities in 27 governorates of the republic.

It is worth mentioning that the Bridges of Hope program aims to develop 60 centers in several Egyptian villages to provide comprehensive services to support and empower people with various disabilities. It also includes awareness programs for their families and guardians aimed at developing their skills in dealing with their children. Additionally, a team of social workers and speech therapists will organize workshops to identify learning difficulties, obstacles, and challenges faced by them, equipping them with the necessary specialized skills to overcome these challenges. Moreover, specialized programs will be implemented to provide psychological and social support. Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination will work on developing mechanisms for transferring knowledge and expertise to provide further support to families of people with disabilities under the supervision of relevant authorities in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
