Throughout 2024, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination launched and implemented a series of initiatives and projects, enhancing its services to benefit its members. Under the guidance and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, the organization expanded and developed its services across all centers, equipping them with cutting-edge scientific and specialized devices. This was achieved through leveraging global technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence.

The organization has also broadened its strategic partnerships, collaborating with Arab and international institutions and global entities to serve the diverse categories of People of Determination.

International Cooperation and Enhancing Global Reputation

Regarding international partnerships and enhancing the organization’s global reputation, His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization, received the flag for hosting the 20th World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) International Conference in 2027. This marks the first time the conference will be held in the Middle East and North Africa region. The event, organized by the Zayed Higher Organization, was announced during a celebration at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival in Al Wathba, attended by key leaders and officials.

Successful Visit to the Russian Federation

A high-level delegation led by His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan recently visited the Sverdlovsk region in the Russian Federation to explore its experiences in providing care and rehabilitation for various categories of People of Determination. The visit aimed to foster collaboration in scientific, educational, cultural, and sports fields, as well as to exchange experiences in improving the quality of life for People of Determination.

The visit included participation in the International Social Technology Forum 2024, where Zayed Higher Organization represented the UAE as the only entity outside the Russian Federation and the first Arab country invited as a guest of honor at the exhibition.

During the visit, the organization signed a memorandum of understanding with the H. Turner National Medical Research Center for Orthopedics and Trauma in Russia. This partnership focuses on enhancing cooperation and coordination in exchanging expertise, developing skills, and conducting joint research in diagnosis, surgery, and rehabilitation. The agreement also includes sharing academic resources, publications, and scientific information.

Additionally, the organization established a new partnership with Ural Federal University in Russia. This collaboration aims to advance research and development in psychology and psychiatry, fostering cross-cultural cooperation, encouraging joint research, and conducting educational activities. As part of this initiative, the two institutions plan to launch a bilingual Emirati Russian Psychology Dictionary.

"ADQ Bridges of Hope" Program in Egypt

In collaboration between Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, and under the sponsorship of ADQ, a new phase of the "ADQ Bridges of Hope" program has been launched to support and empower individuals with disabilities across various governorates of Egypt.

The program aims to provide free, comprehensive services to these groups at 60 centers for People of Determination affiliated with the ministry, along with providing internet services to these centers. Additionally, internet services will be extended to 68 centers completed in the first phase.

The second phase of the program focuses on early intervention programs to support children in their early stages of development, aiming to minimize the negative impacts of disabilities and reduce the chances of health deterioration.

The organization also announced the implementation of a series of medical awareness convoys across Egypt’s governorates under the patronage of ADQ. These convoys will cover 12 diverse medical specialties as part of the "ADQ Bridges of Hope" program initiative.

Initiatives for Palestinian Brothers and Sisters in Collaboration with Emirates Humanitarian City

Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination has inaugurated a new integrated center specializing in the assessment, support, and care of injured Palestinians. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with Emirates Humanitarian City, is based at the city's premises. Specialists from the organization have evaluated 123 cases of People of Determination, provided approximately 80 therapeutic sessions weekly, and met the supportive needs of around 66 individuals with physical disabilities. Additionally, 11 hearing aids were supplied for cases with hearing impairments.

In cooperation with Emirates Humanitarian City, the organization has offered assessment and therapeutic sessions, prosthetic limb fittings, physical therapy, and training on the use of prosthetic limbs for individuals across various age groups. The program also includes emotional support and necessary rehabilitation to help individuals adapt to daily use of prosthetic limbs. The services further extend to providing wheelchairs, braces, and hearing aids for People of Determination and injured Palestinians who were brought to the UAE to receive treatment and care.

Moreover, the organization has launched a new community initiative to support and rehabilitate hearing-impaired individuals from Gaza. The initiative aims to enable their integration into society and facilitate their daily lives by creating an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters their growth and participation. This aligns with the UAE’s vision to support People of Determination across the globe.



Participation in the UAE Campaign "With You, Lebanon" in Collaboration with the Red Crescent

Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination participated in the UAE campaign "With You, Lebanon" to support the Lebanese people during the ongoing humanitarian crisis and challenging circumstances. The campaign was launched nationwide under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.

As part of its contribution, the organization organized a donation campaign across its centers with the participation of People of Determination, their families, and staff members. Donations were made by purchasing various essential items as outlined in the Red Crescent's list to support needy families, children, and vulnerable groups.

Cooperation on Disability Affairs Between the People's Republic of China and Arab Countries
On the sidelines of the Global Rehabilitation Conference 2024, the second expanded meeting for enhancing cooperation on disability affairs between the People's Republic of China and Arab countries was held. The event was organized by Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination in collaboration with the China Disabled Persons’ Federation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Titled "Enhancing Practical Cooperation for Inclusive Development," the meeting aimed to identify common ground, exchange experiences, and explore ways to promote inclusive development. The objective was to ensure fair benefits for individuals from various categories of People of Determination.

Global Rehabilitation Conference 2024 in Abu Dhabi

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board, and under the theme "Work and Employment," Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination organized the Global Rehabilitation Conference 2024 in collaboration with Rehabilitation International (RI) and the International Social Security Association.

Held at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, the conference marked a historic milestone with the adoption of the “Abu Dhabi Declaration for People of Determination.” The declaration outlines a clear plan to increase employment rates for People of Determination, positioning it as one of the conference’s most significant achievements.

As part of the outcomes, the conference announced the formation of a specialized task force to annually review and monitor the implementation of the action plan. This initiative aims to ensure transparency and accountability in achieving the declared objectives.

This marks the first time the Global Rehabilitation Conference has been hosted in the Middle East, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to advancing the inclusion and empowerment of People of Determination worldwide.

International Conference on Advances in Autism Research: "Challenges and Solutions"

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination hosted the 12th International Conference on Advances in Autism Research: "Challenges and Solutions."

The conference was organized in collaboration with ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), and Lotus Holistic Group Abu Dhabi at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center in the United Arab Emirates.

The event aimed to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and maximize the benefits of practical research and studies presented during the conference.

A significant milestone of the conference was the launch of the first peer-reviewed scientific journal on autism, titled *"The International Journal of Challenges and Solutions in Autism."* This marks a pivotal step forward in advancing scientific research and promoting advanced studies in the field of autism.

Health and Social Care for People of Determination

Comprehensive Assessment and Diagnosis Services

The organization launched a new assessment and diagnostic service at Al Dhanna Hospital in Al Dhafra, in collaboration with ADNOC. This initiative facilitates access to comprehensive diagnostic services for People of Determination, following the organization's established practices and standardized procedures approved in Abu Dhabi.

Zayed Higher Organization has transferred its expertise in comprehensive assessments to the hospital's assessment unit and trained seven specialists on the organization’s diagnostic and evaluation methods. The training program is ongoing to enhance skills and capacity.

Long-Term Care Collaboration

The organization signed an agreement with Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center to manage its Al Modheef Center, dedicated to long-term care for People of Determination.

Under this partnership, the leading multi-disciplinary care provider will deliver medical and therapeutic services to residents of the center, aligning its services with international classifications for rehabilitating People of Determination with critical or severe disabilities.

Psychological and Social Support for People of Determination

As part of its strategic initiatives to support this cherished group, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination provides psychological and social support to People of Determination and their families. These services aim to help them cope with the challenges and difficulties associated with disabilities.

The organization has inaugurated outdoor playgrounds specially designed and equipped for People of Determination and their families at three of its care and rehabilitation centers: the Abu Dhabi Center, Al Ain Autism Center, and Ghayathi Center in Al Dhafra. Supported by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, these recreational areas provide a safe and inclusive space that caters to various types of disabilities. The initiative aims to encourage movement, sports activities, and sensory skill development for students.

Collaboration and Partnerships for the Benefit of People of Determination

Zayed Higher Organization actively collaborates with numerous governmental and private entities to exchange expertise and expand the scope of services for People of Determination.

A significant partnership agreement was signed with Trends Research and Advisory, aimed at improving the quality of life for People of Determination and empowering them to reach their full potential. The agreement includes collaboration in areas of mutual research interest, exchange of experts and researchers, and joint activities such as conferences, seminars, lectures, and workshops.

Additionally, the agreement encompasses the exchange of publications, including books, journals, and other materials, as well as supporting research collaboration in policy-related areas. The partnership also seeks to strengthen networks with local and international stakeholders, fostering a more inclusive and collaborative approach to supporting People of Determination.

Emirati Genome Campaigns for People of Determination

Under the slogan "Your Health Matters to Us," Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, in collaboration with M42, organized blood sample collection campaigns in the Al Dhafra region. These campaigns aim to encourage participation in the Emirati Genome Program as part of the organization’s initiatives to empower its registered members within the People of Determination database across Abu Dhabi.

This effort contributes to advancing scientific research and developing innovative healthcare solutions based on scientific methodologies, ensuring a brighter and healthier future for People of Determination and their families.



Employment and Vocational Training for People of Determination in Various Sectors

Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination actively works to provide suitable employment opportunities while offering vocational training to enhance their professional skills and improve their chances of securing jobs.

In collaboration with Al Khwarizmi Training Services, the organization launched an initiative to train and prepare high school graduates with determination from the Al Dhafra region for the labor market. This training program focuses on essential job skills such as computer proficiency, interpersonal communication, general secretarial tasks, and more. As part of the initiative, the organization celebrated the graduation of 21 students from diverse categories of People of Determination.

Launch of the "MARS" Program for Healthcare Graduates in Abu Dhabi

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board, and notable dignitaries including Gabriela Michetti, former Vice President of Argentina (2015–2019), Rashid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Healthcare Workforce Sector at the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, and Daryl Barrett, Technical Support Officer for People of Determination at the World Health Organization, Zayed Higher Organization launched the "MARS" Program for training healthcare graduates in Abu Dhabi.

Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination has launched a workshop dedicated to producing high-quality hearing solutions, including various types of medical hearing aids and their charging devices. The workshop is located at the organization's Innovation Center within its vocational training and rehabilitation workshops in Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi.

This initiative is part of the implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the organization and Topland for People of Determination Tools and Supplies, representing WeHear Innovations Private Limited.

The new workshop, which includes several People of Determination among its staff, aims to meet the needs of individuals with hearing impairments by providing assistive devices under the brand "Bee," a distinctive trademark of their products. These devices proudly bear the label "Made in the UAE by Zayed Higher Organization."

Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development, Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, the Integrated Transport Centre, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, the Government Enablement Office - Abu Dhabi, and Parken Company, has announced the activation of a unified electronic link for issuing and approving parking permits for People of Determination between the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In partnership with the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies and Ural Federal University in Russia, Zayed Higher Organization has launched a digital platform for the Emirati Russian Psychology Dictionary.

The platform digitizes the dictionary, storing it in accredited databases for institutional use and connecting it with global internet platforms to integrate it as a trusted resource in machine learning processes. The bag, crafted and developed by the organization’s talented People of Determination at its vocational training and rehabilitation workshops, includes a variety of engaging, educational, and entertaining activities. These activities aim to enhance students’ skills, strengthen their senses, and connect them with the community while ensuring they enjoy their time during the holidays. The bag is filled with creative and enjoyable ideas that inspire students to learn and have fun simultaneously.

Initiatives to Develop the Skills and Creativity of People of Determination

In collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, the organization has launched the second edition of the **"Talented Determination" Initiative under the slogan “Through Art, We Communicate.”

Building on the success of its first edition in 2023, the initiative aims to support and nurture talented individuals from People of Determination in various art forms, including performing arts and visual arts.

The initiative provides a comprehensive program designed to hone and develop these talents, creating an enabling environment that allows participants to compete with global talents. It focuses on enhancing their presence in both local and international events, ensuring their creativity is recognized and celebrated worldwide.


"Farhat and the Family" with Talents from People of Determination

The National Theater in Abu Dhabi hosted the theatrical performance Farhat and the Family", presented by Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination in collaboration with artist Mohamed Henedy. Sponsored by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) and supported by Abu Dhabi Media Network, the performance featured talents from various categories of People of Determination who passed auditions and specialized training under the organization's pioneering initiative, "Talented Determination."

This initiative aligns with the organization's strategy to support talented individuals from People of Determination, fostering an inclusive environment and engaging them across various fields. The event aimed to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s leadership in empowering the People of Determination as integral members of society.

Creativity in Music and Singing by People of Determination

Under the slogan "Harmony Under One Sky," the Zayed Higher Organization, in collaboration with the Emirates Musicians Association, organized a remarkable orchestral music concert at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi.

The event featured outstanding performances by five People of Determination:
- Ghayya Saeed Al Maas in singing
- Zayed Mohammed Al Zaabi in instrumental performance
- Malak Omar Alloush in singing
- Yazan Asaad Ahmed Abu Hasirah in singing

"Ashjafan Family" Theatrical Production

Zayed Higher Organization has adapted the renowned Emirati social drama series "Ashjafan" into a theatrical production, supported by the main partner Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and in collaboration with Akkasa Media Production Company.

The play, "Ashjafan Family, features talented actors from People of Determination. It marks the revival of the beloved TV series originally aired in 1976, over 48 years ago, transforming it into a captivating new stage performance.

This theatrical adaptation brings nostalgic memories of the original series, which remains a significant part of the UAE and Gulf’s cultural and dramatic heritage and highlights the ongoing efforts to integrate and celebrate People of Determination in the performing arts.
