ZHO has signed key partnerships with sports federations and clubs to encourage the participation of People of Determination in activities, programs, and sporting events, highlighting their talents and ensuring their community inclusion. H.E. Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at ZHO, stressed that supporting sports activities for People of Determination with different disabilities not only achieves social integration but also supports their health, unleashes their potential, and transforms them into productive and active members contributing to the nation’s development.
Al Kamali emphasized that People of Determination are key partners in achieving and ensuring the success of Abu Dhabi’s Strategy for People of Determination, which highlights the importance of integrating them into society and involving them in all social, cultural, and sporting events, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s status as a regional hub for empowerment and inclusion.
For his part, Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination, noted that since its establishment, the UAE has prioritized People of Determination, placing them at the forefront of its agenda. The country continues to make persistent efforts at both national and global levels to empower People of Determination and facilitate their lives.
He highlighted ZHO’s commitment, through its large-scale and specialized programs, to continuously invest in their development so they may become active contributors to prosperity and sustainable growth. This includes ensuring all the requirements for a dignified life, guaranteeing their participation in different aspects of life, holding leadership positions, engaging in decision-making processes, shaping the future and development plans, and acquiring multiple skills across all fields through the use of appropriate technologies.
Meanwhile, Saif Al Nuaimi, Director of the Al Ain Club for People of Determination, pointed to the significant achievements made by the UAE in rehabilitating and promoting the inclusion of People of Determination. He underlined the importance of partnerships with sports institutions to provide all the facilities needed for training, development, and enabling their competitiveness, ultimately achieving outstanding results that allow the UAE flag to be raised on international podiums.
He further stressed the importance of training, development, and empowerment programs in driving a qualitative transformation that has had a profound impact on building promising generations.
