Zayed Higher organization for people of determination has renewed its strategic partnership with Palm Sports through the signing of a new memorandum of understanding. The agreement aims to coordinate and collaborate in the field of Jiu-Jitsu for individuals with disabilities. The goal is to ensure their inclusion in the sports competitions organized by clubs and rehabilitation centers affiliated with the foundation. The partnership also involves training individuals with disabilities affiliated with the foundation, enhancing their sports participation, encouraging them to engage in the sport, and providing all necessary facilities for Palm Sports to utilize available sports facilities for their training.


The memorandum of understanding was signed by Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, represented by His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan, the Secretary-General of the organization, and Palm Sports, represented by Mr. Fouad Fahmi Darwish, the CEO of the company. The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the organization, attended by leaders from both sides.

According to the memorandum of understanding, Zayed Higher Organization provides its sports club facilities to Palm Sports for necessary sports training during the organization's working hours. In return, Palm Sports commits to developing and implementing training programs and plans for players with determination who wish to participate. The company will assess and measure their technical, skill, and physical progress, provide necessary trainers and human resources for implementing the training according to approved programs, and offer full support during execution, including competitions and tournaments at the local or regional level.

Mr. Abdullah Abdul'Aali Al-Humaidan, the Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, welcomed the renewal of the memorandum of understanding with Palm Sports. He commended the company's goals in promoting sports activities for the citizens of the UAE and the community in general. He emphasized the importance of sports in daily life and its potential for integration into the fabric of society. The Secretary-General highlighted the role of sports in encouraging participation in regular activities, enabling the organization's members to benefit from these activities to achieve the foundation's goal of empowering and integrating its members into society.

He stated that the renewal of the strategic partnership with Palm Sports ensures the continuity of the organization's program to discover talented individuals with determination in Jiu-Jitsu, a sport in which the UAE holds a distinguished position regionally and internationally. He acknowledged the significant sponsorship and support from the wise leadership, emphasizing the importance of sports for individuals with determination as it enhances the organization's efforts towards their empowerment and integration into society.

The Secretary-General expressed his confidence in the ability of individuals with determination affiliated with Zayed Higher Organization to participate in these sports activities and competitions, including training in Jiu-Jitsu, which represents a qualitative leap in their lives. He highlighted the positive impact on parents, instilling confidence in their children's abilities and fostering pride and happiness. He extended gratitude to Palm Sports and all officials involved for renewing cooperation with the organization in this field.

Mr. Fouad Darwish, the CEO of Palm Sports, praised Zayed Higher Organization's renewed trust in the company and the continuation of this positive partnership, which yields fruits for our sons and daughters with determination. He highlighted the positive impact on all aspects of their life interactions, as many participants in this training program in previous years have demonstrated distinctive abilities and skills that are equally valuable to their peers in various Jiu-Jitsu clubs and programs across the country.

The CEO of Palm Sports affirmed that the organization's decision to involve individuals with determination in Jiu-Jitsu training is a wise decision considering the physical, psychological, social, and health benefits gained from practicing the sport. This is evident through their diverse training programs, which include over 200,000 trainees from different backgrounds and age groups. He emphasized that these observations are supported by studies and scientific research.

Darwish added that thanks to the unlimited support that Jiu-Jitsu receives from our wise leadership at all levels, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu achieves remarkable results that have amazed the world in a short period. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu training programs have become a global focus and a model of excellence in sports management.

Aisha Al Mansoori, the director of the Abu Dhabi Autism Center, affiliated with Zayed Higher Organization, mentioned that the training of the institution's students in Jiu-Jitsu began in 2019. The students' suitability for sports was assessed, and 12 students were selected from the center's affiliates after passing medical and educational tests in coordination with the specialized trainer, teacher, and nurse. The training program was approved by the guardian. An introductory workshop on autism spectrum disorder and the center's services was also provided to the trainers of Palm Sports Company. The company prepared the suitable sports hall for Jiu-Jitsu at the center.

She affirmed that practicing Jiu-Jitsu contributed to building the students' teamwork skills, increasing self-confidence, and following instructions. It also facilitated the integration of students into government schools, with 12 students being approved for integration. A graduation ceremony was organized in coordination with the company and attended by parents.

On his part, Saif Abdulqader Al Nuaimi, the director of Al Ain Club for People of Determination, confirmed that during the previous collaboration period, Palm Sports Company trained 9 players affiliated with the club with various disabilities. The company provided qualified trainers, enhancing their physical fitness and helping them acquire self-defense skills and integration skills. It also offered logistical support with equipment and specific sports tools, coordinated with relevant authorities to register players with determination in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and competitions, and conducted field visits to assess performance.
