Secretary General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) His Excellency Abdullah Abdul-Ali Al-Humaidan, received Thai Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Sorayut Chasombat, in the presence of a number of ZHO's leaders. The Thai Ambassador praised the care and rehabilitation services provided to various categories of people of determination in the UAE, especially through the programs, initiatives and projects of carried out by ZHO. This came after the visit of the Thai Ambassador and his accompanying delegation to the ZHO's headquarters to get acquainted with its experience in the field of providing care and rehabilitation for various categories of people of determination, as well as its educational and rehabilitative services, psychological and social health care services, in addition to discussion and exchange of experiences with the concerned institutions in his country.
The Thai Ambassador expressed his admiration for ZHO's services, describing them as integrated and comprehensive services. He also voiced his great happiness at his visit to ZHO and the introductory tour he made, meeting students and educational cadres, and learning about the efforts made by the entire staff member to provide care and rehabilitation for people of determination. This shows the UAE's great keenness to provide health and rehabilitative services for these groups.
For his part, His Excellency Abdullah Abdul-Ali Al-Humaidan, welcomed the visit of His Excellency Ambassador Sorayut Chasombat and the accompanying delegation to learn about ZHO's experience in providing care and rehabilitation for various categories of people of determination, noting that ZHO is proud to provide this service to categories dear to us all, receiving great support from the wise leadership and the follow-up and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of ZHO's Board of Directors.
The ZHO's SG briefed the Thai Ambassador and delegation on the history of ZHO's inception, its services to the categories of people of determination, the number of beneficiaries of those services, and the limitless support provided by the wise leadership to these them. ZHO seeks, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, to work to provide the best and latest means of care and rehabilitation for these categories and work to attract the best technologies and global experiences in this area.
During the visit, the Thai Ambassador and his accompanying delegation listened to a brief presentation, accompanied by slides, on ZHO's strategic projects, plans and programs, and the services it provides to various categories of people of determination citizens and residents of Abu Dhabi.
The visit began with the "Bee Café" to learn about the first project of its kind in the UAE, a café run by people of determination, not limited to serving coffee only, but also provides technical training to qualify people of determination to obtain an internationally-accredited certificate in the field of coffee making. The café was approved as an international training center for people of determination.
The Thai officials visited a number of vocational rehabilitation workshops at ZHO, including the sewing workshop, which is one of the pioneering projects through which job opportunities are provided for people of determination with mental challenges, based on developing rehabilitation paths in line with the labor market's requirements.
They also visited the 3D printing workshop, the first workshop specialized in developing 3D- printing products through the efforts of people of determination. It was established in cooperation and partnership with HP Company, as the first workshop of its kind worldwide run by people of determination using the HP Jet Fusion 4200 series printer to produce medical supports for limbs by printing them with a 3D printer, as part of the vocational rehabilitation workshops of ZHO's Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department.
The tour of the Thai delegation included the smart robotic rehabilitation laboratory, the first integrated laboratory in the Middle East for therapy and rehabilitation at ZHO's headquarters, an innovative idea aimed to develop ZHO's services in a way that contributes to achieving happiness for its members and people of determination in general. The laboratory contains eleven leading therapeutic devices, using the latest international technologies in therapy, which can be controlled by computer and robotic support devices.
The visit also included the therapeutic pool, which provides hydrotherapy services for ZHO's members of determination of all ages and disabilities. It is a popular therapeutic program for children of determination.
