Dr. Mariem Fadel Bint Dah, the First Lady of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, visited Zayed Higher organization to learn about the institution's experience, projects, and programs in caring for and rehabilitating individuals with disabilities

She visited Zayed Higher organization to learn about its experience, projects, and humanitarian initiatives.


Dr. Mariem Fadel Bint Dah, the First Lady of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, visited Zayed Higher organization to learn about the institution's experience, projects, and programs in caring for and rehabilitating individuals with disabilities, especially those with autism. She also aimed to familiarize herself with the educational, rehabilitative, psychological, and social health services provided by the foundation. She was received by His Excellency Abdulhamidan, the Secretary-General of the Foundation, and several of its leaders.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Hamidan welcomed the visit of Dr. Mariem Bint Dah and provided her with a brief explanation of Zayed Higher organization. He outlined the services offered to various categories of individuals with disabilities and the number of beneficiaries from these services. He also highlighted the immense support provided by the leadership of the United Arab Emirates for these groups. Mr. Al-Hamidan emphasized the Foundation's commitment to implementing the wise directives by working towards providing the highest and most advanced means of care and rehabilitation for these individuals. Additionally, the Foundation aims to attract the best global technologies and experiences in this field.


During the visit, which included the Abu Dhabi Autism Center and the Production Center for People with Disabilities affiliated with organization, Dr. Mariem Bint Dah listened to an explanation from Aisha Al Mansoori, the director of the Abu Dhabi Autism Center, about the services and programs of the Foundation applied to individuals with autism in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including citizens and residents. She toured the classrooms, engaged in dialogue with specialists and teachers.

At the Production Center for People with Disabilities in the Bahia area, Dr. Mariem Bint Dah visited several vocational rehabilitation workshops, including the sewing workshop for girls and boys. This workshop is considered one of the leading projects providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, specifically those with intellectual challenges. The project focuses on developing vocational rehabilitation paths that align with the requirements of the job market.

Additionally, the First Lady, Dr. Mariem, visited the specialized workshop for chocolate production by individuals with disabilities, carrying the "Al Nahla" brand. She also visited the 3D printing workshop, the first specialized workshop in developing products using 3D printing technology by the efforts of individuals with disabilities. This workshop was established in collaboration and partnership with HP (Hewlett-Packard) as the first of its kind globally managed by individuals with disabilities, utilizing the HP Jet Fusion 4200 series printer to produce medical prosthetics by 3D printing. This is part of the vocational training workshops under the Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Management of the organization.
Furthermore, the First Lady of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania visited a dairy product factory where five young women with disabilities, affiliated with the organization, work. The factory operates under the slogan "Made in the Emirates" with the aim of meeting the daily production requirements for various dairy products. It involves storing goat milk for later production stages and facilitating production processes through advanced programming.

Furthermore, Dr. Mariem Bint Dah, the First Lady, witnessed a presentation about the "Bridges of Hope" program, aimed at rehabilitating parents of individuals with disabilities, launched by the Foundation locally and presented on an Arab level by Moza Al Salami, the director of the Al Ain Autism Center affiliated with the organization and the program director. A simplified presentation about the updates in assessment and diagnostic tools was given by Sdra Al Mansoori, the director of the Disabilities Services Department at the organization. Additionally, Mr. Abdullah Al-Hamidan, the Secretary-General of the Foundation, presented an overview of the vocational rehabilitation system in the Zayed Higher Foundation for students above 15 years old.

Dr. Mariem Bint Dah, the First Lady of Mauritania, praised the care, rehabilitation, and empowerment programs for various categories of individuals with disabilities in the United Arab Emirates. She also commended the programs implemented by the Zayed Higher organization, especially for individuals with autism. She expressed admiration for the services of the Foundation, describing them as integrated and comprehensive. Dr. Mariem expressed her great joy at visiting the Foundation, touring the Abu Dhabi Autism Center, the Production Center for People with Disabilities, and meeting students and educational staff. She acknowledged the efforts of all those involved in providing care and rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities, highlighting the UAE's significant commitment to offering comprehensive services, both health and rehabilitation, for these groups.

On his part, His Excellency Abdullah Abdulali Al-Hamidan, the Secretary-General of Zayed Higher organization for People of Determination, welcomed the visit of Dr. Mariem Bint Dah to the Foundation. He expressed his appreciation for the support from brothers and the assistance provided to the Zayed Center for Autism. Al-Hamidan conveyed the experiences of the Foundation's staff to raise awareness and educate families and guardians of individuals with disabilities in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, as part of humanitarian initiatives.

Al-Hamidan emphasized the importance of meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families to empower them with the necessary skills to cope with the challenges they face with their children. He highlighted that these efforts aim to enable individuals with disabilities to learn, work, and integrate into society educationally, professionally, culturally, and socially.

He affirmed that the United Arab Emirates always provides all possible support to enhance humanitarian response in Arab countries. Zayed Higher organization for People of Determination is committed to sharing its expertise with everyone and operates in accordance with the wise leadership's directives. The organization seeks to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences with relevant entities worldwide for the benefit of people with disabilities and their families. The ultimate goal is to achieve integration into their societies, empowering them as productive workforce contributing to community building.
