Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination will be taking part in the 2024 International Exhibition for the Social Technology Forum, scheduled to take place from May 13 to 18 in the Sverdlovsk Region of Russian Federation
A ZHO delegation visits several Universities and Specialized Centers to learn about their experiences and exchange expertise with them.
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination will be taking part in the 2024 International Exhibition for the Social Technology Forum, scheduled to take place from May 13 to 18 in the Sverdlovsk Region of Russian Federation. ZHO will be representing the UAE, being the sole organization from outside the Russian Federation and the first Arab nation to receive an invitation to participate in the exhibition as a guest of honour.
H.E. Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary General of ZHO, joins the discussion focused on promoting the importance of supporting individuals and fostering family values. During the session, he delivers a presentation on assistive technology, social employment, and livelihood assistance for people of determination, as well as the operational and assessment strategies, programs, and the remarkable progress made by ZHO in the realm of vocational training and job opportunities for these specific groups.
This participation is part of ZHO’s high-level delegation visit program, who includes H.E Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector, and several ZHO’s department directors. The purpose of the visit is to explore the experiences of various universities, centers, and specialized national institutions in providing care and rehabilitation for different groups of People of Determination. The delegation also aims to discuss opportunities for cooperation between these institutions and ZHO in the fields of science, education, culture, and sports, exchange experiences in improving the lives of People of Determination and finalize several joint cooperation memoranda and agreements.
The visit program consists of a meeting with delegates from the National Medical Research Hospital for Pediatric Orthopedics and Trauma, an execution of a joint cooperation agreement with the H.Turner National Medical Research Center for Сhildren's Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, focusing on the exchange of experiences, skill enhancement, and capacity development for specialists in the areas of diagnosis, surgery, and rehabilitation. Furthermore, the delegation will visit the Limb Foundation for Prosthetics and Orthotics in the Sverdlovsk Region, where they will meet with the institution's head to explore opportunities for collaboration. The visit will also include a meeting with the head of the Regional Center for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities, as well as a visit to the center that has been honored with the Russia Award for its exceptional quality in order to gain insights into their services, programs, and equipment.
The itinerary for the ZHO’s delegation visit involves participating in a sports event featuring an exhibition match between ZHO’s team and the Russian team for seated volleyball for people of determination, as well as a wheelchair basketball match between the two teams. The main objective is to share experiences in sports and to offer a training session in that sport by the ZHO’s players to the Russian team
The ZHO’s delegation will pay a visit to the Ural Federal University in Russia. During their visit, they will have a meeting with the First Vice President of the University, the Director of the Russian Psychological Institute, and the team working on the Emirati-Russian Dictionary of Psychology. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the progress of the dictionary and explore opportunities for joint promotion. Additionally, the delegation will also visit the True Vision Exhibition, which showcases the artistic works of people of determination. Lastly, they will have the chance to visit the Brain and Cognition Laboratory.
The delegation will also visit the Cognitive Technology Center and the Equestrian Country Club. Their purpose is to gain insights into the services offered to people of determination through the club and familiarize themselves with the White Horse Program and the technological advancements employed in the rehabilitation of people of determination.
The itinerary for ZHO’s delegation visit encompasses the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Ural Federal University, in order to strengthen the partnership between the two entities and foster the advancement of joint research and educational endeavors. Both parties will collaborate as co-authors to produce the Emirati-Russian Psychology Dictionary, with the esteemed presence of Andrey Zlokazov, Minister of Social Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.
