Swimming Training for Autistic Students and Football Training for Intellectually Disabled and Hearing Impaired People of Determination

The two memorandums of understanding were signed by His Excellency Abdulla Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, by Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Mubarak Hamad Al-Ghafri, Director General of the Shark Swimming Academy and by Mr. Hamouda Ali Al Ameri Executive Director of the Ball for All Academy. The signing ceremony took place at the Zayed Higher Organization's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of a number of the entity's leaders.
Parents should register their Children
Zayed Higher Organization called on parents of people of determination with autism, intellectual disabilities, and hearing impairments in the Al Ain region to register their children for the swimming and football training programs. Registration can be undertaken by contacting the organization's Customer Happiness Center, or through the Zayed Higher Organization WhatsApp Business account on 023056666.
Under the memorandum of understanding with Shark Swimming Academy, Zayed Higher Organization allows the Academy to use the Al Ain Autism Center swimming pool for training purposes. The academy has committed to providing an internationally certified coach, and to allocate a trainer for each person of determination to develop student's swimming skills in accordance with best practices. The academy will ensure student comfort, safety and protection, based on international standards and they will ensure the inclusion of affiliated people of determination in all academy events. Finally, the academy will provide a training program for trainee swimming coaches for people of determination, for which trainee coaches will receive accredited certificates upon completion of the training program.
Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding with Ball for All Academy, Zayed Higher Organization authorizes the academy to use the Al Ain Club Stadium for People of Determination for three days a week for training purposes. The Ball for All Academy has committed to training the intellectual disabilities football teams (male) and the deaf/hearing-impaired football teams (male) at the Al Ain Club for People of Determination. The academy has also committed to providing technical support for certification of trainee football coaches for people of determination. The academy will also ensure the inclusion of affiliated people of determination in all academy events and activities and will provide them with special Ball for All Academy uniforms free of charge. The Ball for All Academy will also provide free coaching for the children of the Al Ain Club for People of Determination employees. Finally, the academy has committed to providing coaching for 30-50 students and athletes during their allocated usage of the club's training facilities, in strict adherence to environmental, health and occupational safety procedures.
His Excellency Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, welcomed the signing of the two memorandums of understanding with the “Shark Swimming Academy", certified by the Emirates Swimming Federation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for the education and training of swimming and water rescue and with the “Ball for All". He said: “Sports are an important part of Zayed Higher Organization's activities, and we work in accordance with the directives of our leadership to highlight the talents and capabilities of our people of determination. We continually encourage them to participate in regular sports activities and competitions, through which we facilitate their empowerment and social inclusion. We adopt the government's ideals of sport as a way of life and strive to increase community awareness of its importance".
Sport is a Scientific Approach
He stressed that sport today has become a science and a profession, and all countries seek recognition through sporting and athletic accomplishments, because what we can achieve through sport, especially for people of determination, is that what cannot be accomplished by other means. He pointed out the need for a qualitative leap in research and development in the field of professional sports, to include not only athletes, but also the entire sports industry. This will facilitate the development and refining of athletic talent to effectively create champion athletes that successfully compete at local, regional and international competitions.
His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan said: “The conclusion of a strategic partnership with the “Shark Swimming Academy" and the “Ball for All Academy" is a model for effective cooperation between the private sector and the organization in support of developing a professional system that ensures the detection of talented athletes of determination in swimming and football". He expressed his great sense of pride for the affiliates of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination who participate in sports activities, events and competitions. He stressed that the provision of training in swimming and football to the organization's students represents significant improvement in their quality of life and contributes to giving parents a sense of pride and confidence in their children's abilities. He thanked the management of the “Shark Swimming Academy" and the “Ball for All Academy" for their cooperation with Zayed Higher Organization in this initiative.
Mohammed Abdullah Mubarak Al Ghafri, Director General of Shark Swimming Academy, expressed his happiness at concluding the memorandum of understanding with Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and his eagerness to work with the organization and its students. He highlighted that the academy will endeavor to meet the needs of the community and to become a source of joy and fulfillment for the organization's students of determination.
He stressed that the academy will provide technical staff and specialized swimming coaches who hold international certificates accredited by the UAE Swimming Federation, to provide exemplary swimming services and training for people of determination. He concluded in saying that the academy will continually strive to fulfill the vision and mission of Zayed Higher Organization towards a bright future for our children.
Hamouda Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Ball for All Academy, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination for their great confidence in the Academy, represented in their signing the memorandum of understanding. He expressed his hope that the two entities cooperate productively and successfully, toward their shared goals. He stressed that the Ball for All Academy aims, in cooperation with Zayed Higher Organization, to identify and work with a generation of truly talented people of determination. Through our coaching and training programs, we will develop their talents through accredited training methods, while prioritizing the athlete's happiness and enjoyment at all times. The academy focuses on the athlete as an individual, providing comprehensive support both to the athlete and to the community as a whole, encouraging the creation of a generation that is educated in sports and healthy living. The academy will also work to enhance the quality of football coaches for people of determination, as well as working to develop sports training programs and increasing their capacity, optimize sport participation and accomplishments and establish cooperative partnerships to create teams capable of competing at both national and international levels.
