Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination signed a memorandum of understanding relating to social responsibility and environmental sustainability with the Environment Friends Society The memorandum is aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability awareness among the educational and administrative staff of the organization; building their capacity to spread this awareness among members of society, and to promote the inclusion and participation of people of determination and their families in voluntary environmental events, in addition to working on an annual agenda to achieve the shared goals of both the organization and the association.

Promoting the Inclusion and Participation of People of Determination and their Families in Voluntary Environmental Events

 

Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination signed a memorandum of understanding relating to social responsibility and environmental sustainability with the Environment Friends Society The memorandum is aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability awareness among the educational and administrative staff of the organization; building their capacity to spread this awareness among members of society, and to promote the inclusion and participation of people of determination and their families in voluntary environmental events, in addition to working on an annual agenda to achieve the shared goals of both the organization and the association.

 

The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Abdulalee Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and by His Excellency Ibrahim Ali Mohammed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Environment Friends Society

 

As per the terms of the memorandum of understanding, both entities will cooperate in exchanging knowledge and information concerning environmental culture, and will organize environmental awareness activities and events, for which the will undertake the event planning Environment Friends Society, for which Zayed Higher Organization will provide logistical support. The organization will also participate in the association's initiatives, such as the wastepaper recycling initiative and the used clothing recycling initiative, in addition to including the association in the organization's environmental planning. The association will provide certified voluntary environmental courses and workshops for organization employees and students, as well as organizing summer programs in the organization.

 

Both Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Environment Friends Society will work to highlight their respective roles and environmental contributions through appropriate media channels by publishing articles or highlighting the logo of each entity in both media and social media, as well as providing the necessary resources to promote environmental culture and fulfill the terms of the memorandum.

 

After the signing ceremony, His Excellency Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Secretary General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, stressed the importance of educating the organization's employees and affiliated students of determination about the need to preserve the environment of the Emirates, as this has become a national duty, based on the efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace and his successor, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.

 

He added that environmental awareness is the responsibility of all members of society, both citizens and residents, in light of the climate changes that the world is witnessing due to the environmental toll that comes with social and economic development, noting that the issues of sustainability and environmental awareness is an area to which Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination dedicates a great deal of energy and focus. The project to recycle used plastic containers launched by the organization in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi General Services Company “Musanada" and the Abu Dhabi Center for Waste Management “Tadweer" is a prime example of Zayed Higher Organization's dedication to environmental preservation.

 

His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan thanked the officials of the Environment Friends Society for their cooperation with Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, explaining that the memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for joint cooperation between the two entities toward achieving the common goal of environmental awareness and preservation in the Emirates, promoting environmental awareness among the organization's employees and affiliated people of determination on environmental issues and facilitating  participation in joint activities between the two entities.

 

His Excellency Ibrahim Ali Mohamed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Environment Friends Society, stressed that the association's commitment to the vision of the UAE government in innovation and creativity in community and voluntary activities, and the involvement of various segments of society, including people of determination, is consistent with the principles of our leadership. He also indicated that the association is keen to participate in activities and events that contribute to empowering people of determination and enhancing their inclusion in volunteer activities and community service.

 

Today, we celebrate the achievements we have made in the inclusion and empowerment of people of determination, and the signing of a cooperation agreement with the largest public entity in this field. He praised the efforts of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, which contributed greatly to the success of the association's integration plan and in achieving the aspirations of our leadership in establishing a cohesive society that embodies the inclusion of all members of society and is proud of its national identity.
