Within the framework of supporting national strategies for empowering people of determination, the General Women's Union, in cooperation with Zayed Higher Organization, has included a series of economic and commercial projects for people of determination within the “My Store" virtual market for productive families, which was launched by the General Women's Union under the generous patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and "Mother of the Emirates", with the aim of empowering them, promoting their social inclusion, expanding the availability of their products and stimulating their development and economic productivity.
Her Excellency Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women's Union, said that the inclusion of a series of economic and commercial projects for people of determination within the “My Store" virtual market for productive families will contribute to developing sustainable social solutions that improve the lifestyle of people of determination and encourage their development across the Emirates, stressing that The General Women's Union, under the generous direction of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, continually seeks to identify and promote the potential of people of determination, to use their creative energies in competitive crafts and productive endeavors, and to highlight their capabilities and professional and practical skills.
Her Excellency added: “Her Highness has always been the primary supporter of the concept of care, development, well-being and suitable standards of living for women in particular, but also for society in general, especially people of determination, who form a basic pillar of society, and who have continually demonstrated their competencies, skills and special abilities, especially in the field of crafts. The handmade and creative products of people of determination have become increasingly popular among various segments of society, especially as they are of high quality and combine both artistic creativity and high-quality craftsmanship.
His Excellency Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Secretary General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, affirmed that in implementation of the leadership directives, the organization's role does not stop at its mission only to provide services and programs for care, rehabilitation and treatment services to its affiliated people of determination, but rather it strives to develop their cognitive, social and interactive capabilities, and their daily living skills, in addition to providing other support services, with a focus on activities that allow people of determination the opportunity to engage socially with their peers and their communities.
He stressed that Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, under the follow-up and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, will continue to support all people of determination to develop and fulfill their potential within their respective communities, under the “Bee" brand of People of Determination, as well as providing them and their families with all training and support required. He added: “Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination remains keen to support and develop the capabilities of our sons and daughters of determination, encouraging them to be productive members of society and to have a fundamental role in social development.
His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan explained that the organization is actively engaged in strategic partnerships with a number of specialized bodies, including the Emirates Academy of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide appropriate programs and training courses for people of determination and their families, ensuring that all support is in place and all requirements are met to secure training certification, in addition to cooperating with The Department of Economic Development to support people of determination in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in securing "Abu Dhabi Merchant" commercial licenses under the license category; "People of Determination Entrepreneurs", in order to promote their empowerment and integrate them into the business communities of Abu Dhabi and the U.A.E.
He mentioned that the support, care and follow-up from Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination helps to promote and encourage those people of determination who are participating in commercial projects to release their creative potential and to ensure that disability does not hinder their creativity, as they possess tremendous skills and abilities, which deserve to be nurtured and embraced by society as a whole.
